Finally concerts and festivals again! Finally Wacken again! Finally face-to-face encounters with metalheads from all over the world again!
And in the middle Metality.
For the first time since our founding in early 2020, we were also able to show our flag and face in Wacken. With our own stand in the Wacken Foundation Camp (thanks to...for the great support!!!) and a response that we would not have thought possible:
In the days of Wacken alone, the cow bell was rung 78 times in our tent pagoda. Connected with the cheering "New Member!".
Not a day without a celebrity visit. Mambo Kurt, Thundermother, Sabina Classen, Wacken founder Thomas Jensen and the author Dr. Nico Rose, who signed his customer “Hard, Heavy & Happy” at our stand. By the way, Nico has been on board with Metality since the early days and also supports our new project Black Dog. The bracelet that went with it was literally ripped out of our hands in Wacken. Proof of how important the topic of depression is for metalheads too. You can read all about this project here: https://www.metality.org/de/blackdog You can also order new wristbands free of charge under the same link. (We do not resist a donation!)
The crowning glory of our first Wacken appearance: collecting tents, sleeping bags and sleeping pads from festival visitors for the homeless. Together with our friends from Hanseatic Help and Engel in the streets. Which also left its echo in the media. From Radio Bob to Deutschlandfunk. And with clicks on Facebook and Twitter that went through the roof.
Metality member Patrick documented our first Wacken tour. You can see a selection of his photos here.
