[UPDATE: Target met and exceeded!]
Members and friends of Metality eV donated a total of 12.993,00 euros to support the homeless - and thus even exceeded our self-imposed target of "666 sleeping bags for the outsiders outside"!
Big horn, fanfare and golden confetti for everyone!
As promised, we forwarded the money to the Hamburg aid organization Hanseatic Help https://www.hanseatic-help.org/, which organizes the purchase of the sleeping bags and their distribution.
The background to the campaign was also that all major festivals and open-air concerts were canceled in 2020. And with it the collection of sleeping bags, sleeping pads and tents left behind by metalheads. In the past, they were then given away to those who really needed them.
But where there is no festival - there is also no sleeping bag! And in the A…pinched were once again the many homeless people who had been hit particularly hard anyway.
"The gaps left by the canceled concerts were painful for us," say the organizers of Hanseatic Help. It was all the more important that Metality jumped into the breach. That was really awesome!

THE ACTION IN DETAIL
It's already a good tradition that after festivals and open-air concerts everything is collected again that many a metalhead has left behind. This often includes lots of sleeping mats, sleeping bags and tents. In the past, they were then given away to those who really needed them.
That too fell victim to Corona this year. Because where there is no festival - there is also no sleeping bag! And in the A…pinched, are once again the many homeless people who have already been hit particularly hard and who are now facing a brutal winter.
We must not allow this, friends!
That's why Metality is now starting the big fundraising campaign "666 sleeping bags for the outsiders outside" and is asking you for the appropriate support. Preferably in the form of cash donations. To be honest, we would be a little overwhelmed with donations in kind. But it's also possible. Because we are working with the professionals from Hanseatic Help on this campaign https://www.hanseatic-help.org/ together who have already started a similar campaign.
Hanseatic Help has been providing and supporting refugees, the homeless and other people with clothing and other everyday items free of charge for years and provides logistical support for other social organizations in Hamburg and other federal states.
